Whistling Duck was “born” in 2003 and has steadily grown over the years to become one of Uganda’s longest leading small tour companies. We are an owner – run Specialist Tour Operator, based in Jinja, Uganda. – our founding Directors are involved in the day to day running of the business and are keeping up to date with trends and changes in the industry.

We are also full members of AUTO (Tour Operators Association of Uganda)

As a Tour Operator, we are determined to respect and conserve wildlife and support local communities. We run professionally customized safaris to suit our clients’ needs in all aspects. Whistling Duck Tours & Travel

All of our guides are highly experienced, and have been with us for more than 12 years and have a great reputation in the field. They are an important and large part of the safari, and whilst always being professional, they often become good friends with guests and are then requested for future safaris.

All have undergone numerous guiding courses, courses in wildlife knowledge and identification, first aid courses, and hold a number of certificates on “off-road driving”.

For convenience and safety reasons we ensure all our guides are provided with access to communication facilities e.g., mobile phones to ensure that relevant personnel can be contacted when needed. 

Over the years, we have experimented with many types of vehicles and now have our own fleet of 4×4 safari customised Landcruisers & Land Rovers especially designed for the challenging road conditions. Each offers window seating and roof hatches. We make sure that all our vehicles are regularly serviced and maintained.
